Winterising: Beating the under-floor draughts

As we look ahead to the colder months, what are your best tips for insulating your skirting and stopping those dreaded under-floor draughts?
It is so tempting to just block up every single gap in the skirting to stop the cold air, but I've read that completely sealing the undercarriage can cause terrible damp and condensation issues on the chassis. How do you strike the right balance between staying warm and keeping the air flow moving.
Whatever you do, never block your air bricks or skirting vents completely! I have seen a beautiful older chassis absolutely ruined by rust because the moisture had nowhere to escape.

The real trick is to insulate the water pipes and the underside of the floorboards rather than sealing the skirting solid. Inside the home, upgrading to a high-tog carpet with heavy-duty underlay works absolute wonders against the draughts.
